This period restoration project in Togher, Co. Louth involved the careful renovation of an older building with plenty of character, but also a number of structural challenges that needed to be handled properly.
The property had huge potential, but it required a thoughtful approach to restore it well, protect its original charm, and make it suitable for modern living.
As part of the project, we carried out a major renovation that carefully addressed the condition of the existing building while improving how the home worked day to day. With older properties, attention to detail matters at every stage, especially when structural issues are involved, so the work was approached with care, experience, and a strong focus on doing things properly.
We also added a side extension to create more usable space and improve the overall layout of the home. This included a new kitchen, designed to sit comfortably within the restored property while giving the homeowners the functionality and comfort they needed for modern life.
The finished result is a home that feels both restored and renewed — full of character, but far better equipped for contemporary living. It is a great example of how a thoughtful restoration, combined with the right extension and careful workmanship, can bring new life to an older property while respecting what made it special in the first place.
